All such identical adverts went straight to spam previous to my computer home page being reset by a BT agent in India on Thursday 28 January.
Answer:
Usually just clicking on SPAM when you receive the message will direct it to your SPAM FOLDER and any subsequesnt emails from this person will go there…if that doesn’t work try below….
If you are using yahoo classic OR all new mail…..
Go to “Options” It is above your email
Click on “Mail Options”
Click on SPAM
Enter the address you want to block
Click on “Add Block”
On occasion the sender changes their name BEFORE @ so block that DOMAIN the following way…
If you are receiving several emails from the same domain, but various ID’s, the easiest way to stop them is to enter the domain into your “Blocked Addresses”.
In Yahoo! mail, to block the senders domain (hotmail.com):
◘ Click on “Options, upper right corner of mail page”.
◘ Then “Mail Options”.
◘ Click on “Spam” from the list on the left.
◘ In the “Add a blocked address” box, enter the domain (only the part of the email address AFTER @, do not include @). Note: I have recently seen where you should have the @ included…try them both.
◘ Click the “Add” button.
Now, any email from that domain, no matter what ID is used to send it, will be blocked.
FINALLY…do not forget to click on SAVE CHANGES at the top of the page……
+++++++++++++++++++++
In addition you can use your FILTERS to send them to trash.
…..click on OPTIONS…MAIL OPTIONS…go to the left side and click on FILTERS…once in click on CREATE OR EDIT FILTERS…then click on ADD…place the site in the box and click on ADD FILTERS..NOTE; this was the only way I could get rid of Yahoo!groups..

how do i circumvent this ,do i have to get a new yahoo address or can i get a new screen name.and have my mail rerouted there?
Answer:
Can you get into your account? If so, change your password to something long, and something that has numbers and odd characters like # and $ in it.
If not, did you try contacting Yahoo? If you usually use the same computer to access your e-mail, yahoo might be able to help you. They can tell that you’re contacting them from the computer you usually use your e-mail address on, and that the guy using it now isn’t accessing your e-mail from a place you usually do.
To contact Yahoo, call or email: account-security-help@cc.yahoo-inc.com and 1-408-349-1572.

I don;t know why or how my computer is sending out emails for things that i never look at i.e. viagra, internet dating to all of my contacts. How can I stop this from happening?
Answer:
Per Yahoo this is being caused by a virus. It spreads out through your email account and it sends spam emails to the contacts that are in your address book and to yourself if your address is in your contact list without your knowledge.
There are many viruses in existence today (often called “worms”), that propagate when an email attachment containing the virus is sent to an email address found in an infected user’s computer (e.g., address book, local files, etc.).
To stop the sending out of spam please change your Yahoo! password.
The users that have encountered this before stopped the sending out of spam after changing their Yahoo! password. i might also recommend changing your security question/answer also.
You can use this link to change your password.
http://edit.yahoo.com/config/change_pw
you will be asked to enter your current password once and your new password twice. click “Save”.
To change or update your secret question and answer you can use the form at http://help.yahoo..com/l/us/yahoo/acct/in…
You might want to run a virus scan on your computer and it sometimes helps to run a virus scan in the SAFE MODE. This can be accomplished by restarting your computer and slowly clicking on the F8 button on your keyboard while the computer is starting up

I get occasional advertising e-mails from an acquaintance. Since she is from a middling-wealthy family I think of her as not needing to make money by broadcasting Viagra ads and such. So, I wonder if her computer has been hijacked, or if the prospect of making money this way is realistic to her.
If hers has indeed been hijacked, then I wonder if my own computer may be similarly infected from opening her e-mails.
Answer:
She’s dropping a hint

My mom thinks I am watching porn on our computer because she is getting spam from Viagra. Then last night our speakers weren’t working, so she thought that I did something illegal and someone shut them down… A wire was unplugged. How do I stop her from being angry at me for these crazy things? I DON’T porn!
Please help me!
Thanks in advance!
Answer:
I would advise getting a spam cleaner for your system. I had the same problem a couple of years ago, had to explain to my mother, that this is called random spamming, which 90% of daily sent e-mails consist of. A good program which I use is ESET Home Security, but there are a lot of other programs scattered throughout the interweb. These messages cannot be stopped, only screened, and even a spam filter can’t find everything to be spam. The best way to avoid these is to use a webmail, like Yahoo, or Google mailing, which automatically cleans, and deletes your inbox, from known mails, using a keyword identifier system. Oh, and youcan say I’m an a$$hole, but send her to an internet course if you can. It will help a lot later. Personal experience.
